Software

Converting to the Mac'ism means that you will be sacrifing the diversity of software available for the PC. Sure, you get the essential word-processor and web-browser. The main thing you are giving up are games. Be prepared to live a live without entertainment in this form. When the games eventually (if they ever do) reach the Mac they are outdated and old news, but atleast at that point the minimum requirements are met by your computer.

When switching to a mac you can forget about running pretty most all new games available for windows. Autodesk Autocad, one of the worlds most renowned CAD-applications is also something that you can forget about. Neither Microsoft's Access is available for the mac.

Apple uses Mac OS X Server mainlyon their primary website because anything else would look bad for business.
On their local sites they seem to prefer Solaris and Windows 2000 (china ran it until a month ago)
because of their superior stability compared to OS X.
